About Monique Quarantini

 

Monique is a potter and artist whose practice spans more than 40 years. Working for the past twenty years as a studio potter, embracing the freedom to explore a more a personal and expressive visual language.

Her  creative life as a potter began as a production potter and soon after a production decorator. A pivotal period of her early career was spent working along side Errol Barnes for ten years an experience that deeply shaped her understanding of craftsmanship, form and the discipline of clay .

INSPIRATION

Nature lies at the heart of Monique’s work. The flora and fauna of the mountains surrounding her home continually inform her imagery and creative rhythm a deep spiritual connection to the natural world and the quite presence found with in it.

MEDIUM 

Working between clay and charcoal. Pottery remains at the heart of her practice ~a tactile grounding medium that allows her to explore form, surface and story.
